These are some interesting facts about Lovell and his missions-

	When Aquarius (the Lunar module of Apollo 13) burned its engines they made no sound because they were in space, so the crew did not know if the engines were going.
	Apollo 13 returned safely and splashed down in the Pacific Ocean.
	The Odyssey (the Service Module of Apollo 13) was crippled after the oxygen tank 2 exploded.
	The Odyssey’s temperature dropped to about 38 degrees Fahrenheit.
	Fred Haise became ill with a kidney infection because he had not been drinking enough fluids.
	Jim was on four space missions, Gemini 7, Gemini 12, Apollo 8, and Apollo 13.

Of the 753 students graduating from the Naval Academy in 1952, only 50 were selected immediately for naval aviation, and Jim was one of them.
